Christina Lake will receive $20,000 from the province to develop an age friendly community report and action plan.
The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is one of 28 recipients of grants to support strategies to help seniors stay mobile, physically active, socially connected and healthy.
Area C Director Grace McGregor says they will now consult with the public to see what services are needed in the community.
McGregor says she would like to start this winter with the first of two public outreaches and have the second in the spring when many seniors return from the south.
