Rossland nurse practitioner being tested for Ebola at KGH

A Rossland-based nurse practitioner is being tested for Ebola at Kelowna General Hospital.

However Interior Health insists it’s a precautionary measure.

Patrice Gordon returned from West Africa on Christmas Day and in terms of strict self-reporting informed authorities she had a sore throat.

She was admitted through the KGH ER Monday and is in isolation.

Deputy Provincial Health Officer Dr Bonnie Henry says initial test results from the BC Centre for Disease Control came back negative.

KGH remains open to patients and visitors as normal.
