Local BC Assessments unchanged

There is virtually no change in the average property assessments in our region as we head into a new year.

BC Assessment says a typical home in Nelson that was assessed at $354,000 is now valued at $352,000 for the 2015 assessment roll.

In Castlegar that figure is also down just a few thousand dollars from $260,000 to $258,000.

In Rossland there was a very slight increase from $238,000 to $240,000.

That was the case too for Trail with a typical home being valued at $172,000 this year as opposed to $171,000 last year.

In Grand Forks a typical home was down to $195,000 from $199,000 a year ago.

However all values can fluctuate by 5% above or below that average figure based on house-specific factors.
