School bus fire – three vehicles burnt

A fire at a school bus compound in Slocan Friday morning.

A truck driver passing by the site adjacent to Brent Kennedy Elementary reported to police that a bus was fully engulfed in flames just after 5 am.

Here’s School District Eight Director of Operations Larry Brown.

Brown says despite that they will be able to fulfill commitments to all their routes.

He adds RCMP do not suspect arson as the cause of the fire but rather a vehicle malfunction.

The bus was made in 2008.

The blaze happened before anyone was at the compound and there were no injuries.
