Rossland will address huge infrastructure deficit:councillor

The new Rossland council will address the city’s huge infrastructure deficit.

This from councillor Aaron Cosbey who says they’ve made it quite clear to city staff that fixes and upgrades to ageing roads, pipes and facilities need to be done.

Vital budget discussions will take place in the coming months.

While he can’t say if there will be big tax hikes, a cutting of services or more borrowing- or perhaps a blend of all three- cosbey says the new council is not going to hide from making tough decisions.

Rossland would need to spend about $18 million to address their entire infrastructure deficit which not includes roads and pipes but facilities like the 80 year old swimming pool.
