Ebola negative nurse back to normal life

The Nurse Practitioner at the centre of the Ebola scare at Christmas time says it’s wonderful to be back to a normal life.

Rossland’s Patrice Gordon is at her practice in the Chilcotin after her three-week self-monitoring period ended this week.

She tested negative for Ebola at Kelowna General Hospital after having flu-like symptoms soon after returning from Sierra Leone.

She hopes the whole episode has highlighted the extreme challenges facing the people of West Africa.

She just got news that one of her Sierra Leone based Red Cross colleagues has died from the virus.

She hopes to return there in the Spring.
