Rare for Bobcats to attack pets: Conservation Officer

It’s not that rare to have bobcats prowling around Castlegar but it is unusual for them to go for pets.

This from local Conservation Officer Ben Beetlestone who explains why the pretty big cat has been sinking it’s teeth into kitty and pooch.

A cat and dog at different homes were attacked Wednesday night.

Beetlestone says they have set a trap for the wild animal that could weigh around 35 pounds.

He says the community should keep their smaller pets indoors at the moment but thinks it would extremely rare for the bobcat to go for a human.
