Leave Nelson traffic flow alone:councillor

Leave the downtown Nelson traffic flow alone and get on with the key aspects of the Hall Street Corridor and Stores to Shores project.

That’s the call from more than one city councillor – including Janice Morrison – after city staff presented another new design for the intersection at Hall and Vernon and some other tweaks.

Morrison expressed frustration with continued delays to starting the $3 million project because of constant re-thinks on traffic flow.

The latest idea is moving the Hall-Vernon intersection slightly higher up to flatter ground, making it a 4-way stop and ditching the idea of a right hand turn only on the way up.
