Tele-maternity comes to Kootenay Boundary

Tele-maternity care is now available in the Kootenay Boundary through video conference technology.

Expectant or new mums in our rural areas can connect direct with their maternity care provider in Trail or Nelson without having to actually go there.

Patients simply make an appointment to see their family doctor and then connect virtually with their maternity specialist afterwards.

Jamie Colby – a new mum in Grand Forks- used the service throughout her pregnancy.

The project is funded in partnership by Doctors of BC and Ministry of Health.

Doctors offices in Midway,Christina Lake, New Denver and Salmo are also connected.
