Nelson Chamber on minimum wage question

The interests of all sides need to be considered when discussing a hike in the province’s minimum wage.

So says Nelson Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tom Thomson as the BC Federation of Labour has launched a campaign to raise the level of pay from $10.25 to $15 an hour.

Thomson says it might benefit employees but it could hurt small businesses.

Thomson says only a little more than 2% of all employees in BC actually earn minimum wage.
