The city of Trail is creating a check list to use when reviewing applications for their community grants.
Councillor Lisa Pasin volunteered to work with staff to amend their policy. Pasin says they’ll look at a number of things when identifying the local non-profits.
Pasin explains council is trying to be as efficient as possible heading into a tight budget season that will likely call for cuts.
Council approved cash grants totalling $97,500 last year – $9,000 over budget.
They’ve allocated $80,000 this year.
They city also budgeted $35,000 for facility rental fee waivers.
