Nelson's new climbing wall huge success

It’s only been open for nine days but already 350 people have used the new indoor climbing facility in Nelson.

Scott Jeffery  – a board member with the non-profit Cube Climbing Centre  – says that shows how much the community wanted this.

They’ve employed two managers who are developing programming and already they’ve had to extend opening hours.

The climbing wall is at Mary Hall at Selkirk College’s 10th Street Campus.

The $150,000 cost was covered by donations from the community, Kootenay Climbing Club members, private sponsors and the Columbia Basin Trust, among others.
