The proposed budget from the local Communities in Bloom branch has raised eyebrows at Trail city council.
Councillor Carol Dobie told the rest of council that the beautification group apparently planned on asking for $150,000 to be allocated from this year’s fiscal plan.
Dobie says the local volunteers have put the city on the map with their efforts.
She thinks the group may be starting negotiations with a high number on purpose.
Trail’s CIB group were $20,000 over their $110,000 budget last year.
