IH "spoke to" ER doctor re councilor care refusal

Interior Health says they were told about the Trail city councilor incident by an internal staff member after it happened last year.

They can’t disclose what, if any discipline was handed out.

But Dr Sue MacDonald – Executive Medical Director for the East Kootenay and Kootenay Boundary – says the physician has been spoken to.

She says IH does not tolerate refusal by doctors to treat a patient.

She is publicly apologizing to the two councilors.
