IH looks for external bids on hospital laundry service

As expected Interior Health is moving ahead with seeking requests from external providers of laundry services to save on big capital costs.

That threatens a hundred jobs – including 17 full-time equivalent positions at Nelson’s Kootenay Lake Hospital – where a lot of the region’s laundry is handled.

Alan Davies IH’s Director for Support Services says their equipment is ageing.

He says IH finds itself needing to save money for other priorities.
