The Opposition is crediting a major plus in Tuesday’s budget to ordinary British Columbians.
The government is to end the clawback of child support to people on income or disability assistance.
Nelson-Creston New Democrat Michele Mungall says the government was always wrong on that one.
But she says the government has balanced the books on the back or low and middle income taxpayers.
Another key element of the budget is a tax reduction for the highest 2% of earners. Those earning $150,000 will no longer be taxed at the temporary higher rate of 16.8%.
