Castlegar Dog Park could move up agenda

An enclosed Dog Park in Castlegar could come sooner than expected.

Such a facility is included in the City’s Millennium Park Master Plan but it’s slated for 2016.

Councillor Dan Rye says the park could be done in phases but overall it will probably cost around $250,000.

Council recently received a letter from a concerned resident about dogs running around Millennium Park without leashes.

The City does have a bylaw in place that says dogs can’t be running loose in that area.

Rye suggests a separate park may ease any tension among the public.
