BC Hydro blamed for Fauquier golf course damage

The Area Director for the Arrow Lakes says BC Hydro is drawing levels too low, and that’s the main reason behind major sloughing on the Fauquier Golf Course.

Paul Peterson says trees have fallen and craters have opened up on the fairways.

Peterson wants Hydro to pay for the repairs.

The lake levels are lower than they’ve been for years but BC Hydro’s Mary Anne Coules says they’re not exceeding the terms of their water licence. And she says the golf club owns the land.

Coules says BC Hdro is willing to assist with geo-technical help as they have in the past.
