It’s going to be a fascinating five year adventure but it can be done.
This from the Nelson and District Arts Council who have now earmarked the year 2020 to get a new floating performance stage built and in position off Lakeside Park.
Executive Director Neil Harrower says the landscaped amphitheatre is already near the rowing club.
The initial estimated cost isn’t cheap – perhaps a million dollars. But Harrower says there are grants available for this sort of initiative and having ticketed events would generate income.
