BC’s Chambers of Commerce have welcomed this week’s surplus government budget because it offers economic stability going forward.Tom Thomson is the Chamber Executive Director in Nelson .
He says the projections of surpluses the next few years hopefully means business apprenticeship programs and grants will continue to be available.
Thomson is also applauding the end to the clawback on child support for people on income assistance. That’s because any extra disposable income people have tends to stay local.
