Financial information released by Elections BC shows how much our local council candidates received during their campaigns and from whom.
The three biggest single corporate contributions went to mayoral candidates.
In Nelson John Dooley received $5,000 from Kalesnikoff Lumber as part of his $14,000 war chest.
Winner Deb Kozak had $9,500 in her kitty. Nearly all was from individual donors and some gave a thousand dollars or more.
In Rossland winner Kathy Moore received a $5,000 cheque from online company Thoughtexchange as part of her near $8,000 tally.
In Trail unsuccessful candidate Doug Jones received $5,000 from the United Steelworkers. Most of his $8,000 in contributions came from trade unions.
Winner Mike Martin received $10,000 in total, nearly all of it from individuals, and much of it from himself.
And in the Castlegar council race the biggest vote-getter Bruno Tassone received the most contributions of almost $5,000
