Driver’s high speed getaway doesn’t last long

A young man is facing a long list of charges after driving off from Trail RCMP in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He then crashed the truck he was driving near the intersection of Hwy 22 and Bingay Road.

It turns out it had been stolen from Kamloops.

21 year old Sheldon Veness of Vernon was arrested.

Charges include possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property related to break and enters. He’s also before the Vernon court on similar charges.

Three people were in the truck with him – two of them from Trail.

They were released.
