The city of Trail is informing the public about a local business operating without the proper building permits.
Council voted in favor of staff filing a notice on title for the Gulch General Store on Rossland Avenue.
Corporate Administrator Michelle McIsaac says the alert lets any prospective buyer of the property know that it is in violation of a municipal building bylaw.
The City says the business’ sale of take-out food items is considered beyond what they’re allowed to do.
The business argues it has a food retailer’s permit and are not in violation of any regulations.
