Police investigation into fight at Fruitvale Arena

Trail RCMP are investigating a report of an assault at a recent local Junior B hockey game.

A fight broke out in the stands during last Saturday’s match in Fruitvale between the Nelson Leafs and the Beaver Valley Nite Hawks.

A crowd gathered in the second intermission as the Nelson players were leaving the ice to go to the dressing room.

RCMP say after the fight inside the arena – an employee was pushed down outside by fans that had been kicked out of the game.

Police officers will be present at Thursday night’s Game 5 in Fruitvale between the Leafs and Nite Hawks.

Police are holding meetings this week regarding racism towards an opposing player at a Beaver Valley Game earlier this season.
