New Denver emergency room closed until Thursday

The emergency room at the Slocan Community Health Centre in New Denver is closed for the second day in a row.

Interior Health says service won’t resume until 8 a.m. Thursday. People who need the ER are asked to go to Arrow Lakes Hospital in Nakusp in the meantime.

All other inpatient services will continue at Slocan Community Health Centre.

The New Denver ER has been closed temporarily many times in recent years due to staffing shortages, often with little notice.
