Community group proactive in hunt for new doctor

The Community Working Group on Health Care in Kaslo has hit the ground running.

That’s as they try to find a replacement for one of their full-time doctors who has left.

Secretary Maggie Winters says they already had a marketing brochure prepared and it’s being distributed to potential recruits.

She says filling the void is crucial for the peace-of-mind of the community.

She’s confident the word is out that Kaslo is an excellent place for a doctor and their family to live and work.

The Kaslo ER was closed for Friday afternoon because the remaining doctor wasn’t available nor was there any locum coverage.

IH says they are actively recruiting.
