Construction could start on Trail’s $9.8 million Pedestrian Pipe Bridge by September.
This after city council approved the RDKB’s $4.2 million loan authorization bylaw to cover their share of the project.
Mayor Mike Martin says Rossland and Warfield still need to sign off on the Regional District borrowing the money before the Province gives the green light.
Martin adds if all goes to plan they will put the project out for tender next month.
The RDKB will also contribute nearly 43% of maintenance costs but Trail is responsible for design and construction of the new crossing over the Columbia River.
