Saturday bus services win-win for community:mayor

The Director of the West Kootenay Transit Committee is over-joyed with the long awaited changes to service in the region.

Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff is speaking following BC Transit’s announcement Monday to introduce local Saturday service that will connect to Nelson and Trail as well.

The improvements start next week and include three round trips on both the route 98 Columbia Connector to Trail and the route 99 Kootenay connector from Selkirk College to Nelson.

Also included is an added Saturday round trip to the Slocan Valley’s route 20 and a revised Saturday schedule to Nelson’s number 10 North Shore route.
