Former mayor in final goodbye

The former mayor of Trail finally got his opportunity to thank the city he served as head of council for 17 years.

Dieter Bogs wasn’t able to give his outgoing speech at the inaugural council meeting following November’s election because he had hip replacement surgery.

So he spoke to council at their regular meeting Monday night with nearly 30 family, friends and former colleagues in attendance.

Bogs says if he accomplished anything it was because he had people supporting him.

Bogs was actually on city council for 26 years and first elected mayor in 1997.
