Fire Chief promises thorough Taghum investigation

Nelson’s Fire Chief says he can’t guarantee they will be able to find the exact cause of the fatal mobile home fire in Taghum.

But Len McCharles says given the tragedy of this event the investigation will be as thorough as possible.

The fire scene is one of near total destruction.

McCharles says while that poses challenges he’s not saying if that has a bearing on his level of confidence in pin-pointing a cause.

A man died in the blaze in the early hours of Sunday morning although there is no official word yet from the coroner on his identity.
