It is unfair for a local fundraising group to say Trail city council is ignoring youth in this year’s budget.
This from councillor Sandy Santori after Friends of the Trail Skate Park expressed their concerns at this week’s regular meeting.
Santori says if you look back at what facilities have been developed in the past by the city – youth are at the forefront of council’s focus.
The skate park group wants the estimated $550,000 facility included in this years’ fiscal plan.
Past councils promised to fund $275,000 of the project if the group raised the same amount.
They’ve raised $63,000 to date and is asking council to lower their goal to $100,000.
