Celgar maintenance shut down

The annual Celgar pulp mill shut down gets underway Saturday.

The ten-day process will feature about 500 additional people on site at the peak of the work.

The main project is the recovery boiler inspection and repair.

Celgar says they also use this opportunity to check out their environmental control equipment.

As for any major smells?

The company says it takes great care on shut-down and start-up to prevent that but it can happen depending on atmospheric conditions.
