Old School Cafe petition

One of more than 300 people who’ve signed a petition in Castlegar say the School district hasn’t gone about things properly.

The Old School Cafe Alternate Program closes it’s doors to the public today.

SD 20 says running the restaurant aspect proved too stressful for the students who have anxiety issues.

But regular customer Cindy McCallum Miller – who works at the nearby post office – argues there should have been a community dialogue.

She says she’s heard many students actually enjoyed and gained confidence from the supportive public interaction.
