Planned power outage near Salmo to affect residents April 8

Residents just outside Salmo should prepare for a scheduled power outage on April 8, set to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The outage will affect homes and properties within a marked area near the community as FortisBC undertakes planned equipment maintenance.

People in the area are advised to plan ahead by charging devices, minimizing opening of refrigerators and freezers, and ensuring backup arrangements are in place for medical equipment or other essential services.

Traffic disruptions are not expected, but residents working from home or running businesses may experience interruptions during the four-hour window.

Utility customers can check with their service provider for updates or possible changes to the schedule.
