10 year transportation plan

While maintaining highways and bridges is the top priority for transportation the reliability of the Castlegar and Trail airports also remains a major issue.

That’s the feedback given by our region in helping form the final report for the Province’s ten-year Transportation Plan.

The government will invest $2.5 billion in transport in the next decade.

$24 million will be provided over three years to improve community airports.

Meanwhile $800 million is slated to maintain existing highways and there’ll be $1 billion for expansion.

However there are no specific projects listed in the plan for the West Kootenay.
