City’s recruiter clarifies Dr hires in Castlegar

Castlegar’s independent physician recruiter is a bit surprised Interior Health announced to city council this week that two new full time doctors have been signed up for the community.

That is because Cheryl Gnyp expected to break the news to the public herself .

The two new doctors will set up private practices in the city later this year.

We asked Gnyp if she was frustrated by the way things unfolded.

Council was confused when I-H told them they had recruited the two doctors – unsure if these were additional physicians or the same ones Gnyp had lined up.
