Nelson’s Citizen Of The Year:Barry Nelson

Nelson’s Knights of Columbus Citizen of the Year for 2014 is Barry Nelson.

He’s best known for his strong public transit advocacy and has always maintained having no car is actually good for local business because you’re not driving elsewhere.

Barry founded the Carshare Co-op program 15 years ago.

Nelson would like to see local businesses perhaps offer a small discount for those who show they get around by bus, cycle or walk.

He’s also involved in church work and a dental clinic initiative for people on low income.
