Trail to offer rec discounts through social services

The city of Trail has made it easier for families and individuals with financial challenges to participate in recreation services.

Council has approved a new leisure access policy after working with local social service agencies for the past eight months.

Director of Parks and Recreation Trisha Davison says successful applicants will be eligible for a 50% discount on general admission services and for two recreation programs.

Residents will apply through a third party social service.

The city will also look to offer discounted services that will be open to everyone.

Courtesy passes will be made available to specific agencies for individuals in certain financial situations.
