Eco Society conflicted by wolf cull support

The West Kootenay Eco Society admits it is between a rock and a hard place in supporting the controversial wolf cull in BC.

180 wolves were expected to be shot this winter – just the first part of a multi-year program by the Province to help protect the endangered Mountain Caribou.

Here’s the society’s Executive Director David Reid.

The South Selkirk Mountain Caribou herd is now down to just 18.

Reid says the wolf cull most not be in vain and the society will work to ensure habitat is protected so the caribou can bounce back in future years.
