Councillor wants more funding for Silver City Days

One Trail city councillor believes more funding should have been allocated for this year’s Silver City Days festival.

Robert Cacchioni ultimately voted in favor of a $38,000 budget for the annual event however he feels they could have been closer to the $47,000 requested.

He says Silver City Days is only one of the few events the city has left.

Cacchioni points out they’ve lost the Muay Thai Boxing and Bullarama.

Council made the budget decision with the intention of the organizers relying on their own $12,000 reserve fund.
