Salmo: McKellar to become mayor by acclamation, all council candidates acclaimed

Salmo will have a new mayor next term, with current mayor Diana Lockwood not seeking re-election.

Incumbent councillor Payton McKellar is the only candidate running for mayor and will be acclaimed. McKellar is a pastor with Salmo Frontier Church. He won his council seat in an October 2025 by-election.

The council race is just as settled, with exactly four candidates running for four seats. Incumbent Jennifer Lins sought another term, while Colin Hango, Kyle Gouin and Suzy Gallie all ran for their first terms.

All four council candidates will be acclaimed.
