Missing man’s body found near Slocan Lake

RCMP say human remains found near Slocan Lake in July belong to a man who was reported missing in February 2025.

A forensic and DNA analysis confirms that the remains belong to Thierry Brenon, 71.

Police say the remains were found about five kilometers north of Slocan and were subsequently examined by the BC Coroners Service. The cause of death has not been released, but police say foul play is not suspected.

RCMP had not previously reported the discovery of the remains.
