The Village of Salmo will be chlorinating its water system overnight Thursday as part of its biannual maintenance.
The work is scheduled to start at 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 and run until 7 a.m. the following morning.
During that time, residents are asked to avoid using sprinklers, washing machines and other extra water use.
Additionally, the village said chlorine smells may resonate in the water for five to seven days following the disinfection process.
Anyone who may have an adverse reaction to chlorine is advised to take appropriate precautions ahead of time.
Residents with questions can contact the village office at 250-357-9433.
