Nelson Hydro still cleaning up after storm

The Grohman Narrows area is still without power after yesterday’s storm.

Strong winds took out up to six Nelson Hydro power poles yesterday afternoon and residents from Lakeside Park to Coffee Creek experienced outages.

Power remained off for roughly six customers on Mill Creek Road in Harrop overnight but has since been restored.

However, line manager Doug Pickard says they are just accessing lines for Grohman Narrows today and don’t have a timeline for the fix.

The six power poles damaged yesterday along Highway 3A disrupted traffic for about an hour.
