Boundary Women’s Coalition receives $20,000 grant

A Grand ForksĀ organization that focuses on preventing youth from being sexually exploited is benefiting from a provincial civil forfeiture grant.

The Boundary Women’s Coalition has received $20,000 for their Children of the Streets Society initiative.

Executive director Connie Marchal it’s much needed funding.

Youth aged 13 to 18 will meet two hours a week for eight weeks.

The project will use a multi-agency approach with many community organizations partnering with the coalition such as the RCMP and women’s transition house.

Marchal says they hope to start the program in the fall.
