Conversation Cafe examines Nelson solar garden

Nelson residents are invited to talk about a potential community solar garden tonight.

The West Kootenay Ecosociety is holding the event part of their Conversation Cafe series that will include a panel of experts from Nelson Hydro, the city’s Ecosave program and engineering and energy organizations.

Moderator David Reid says the gist of the conversation will cover feasibility, constraints, and opportunities for a solar alternative to fossil fuels.

The city is pondering a solar array of 50 to 90 kilowatts, which would be 192 to 342 panels.

The discussion goes at 7 p.m. at Oso Negro.
