Wood stove may be to blame for Paterson fire

The giant blaze that destroyed the log home in Paterson this week could have started from a wood stove.

This from RDKB fire chief Terry Martin who says they haven’t concluded their investigation but are leaning towards embers from the stove setting the structure’s roof alight.

It took 33 firefighters over four hours to control the blaze.

Martin says there were no water sources nearby so they had to shuttle it from Rossland.

The two residents got out safely.
