Trail house to be burned in training exercise

The City of Trail and regional fire services are killing two birds with one stone when it comes to demolishing a property on Riverside Drive.
The city recently purchased the old home to help make room for preparatory work for the pedestrian/pipe bridge.
However, instead of a traditional demolition the fire department will burn the structure as a training exercise.
Public works manager Larry Abenante says it’s beneficial for two reasons.

Abenante says the city will save money as they don’t have to haul as much material to the landfill.

The controlled burn takes place noon Sunday at 1995 Riverside Drive.
