Castlegar looks to be throwing its residents a bone by pushing an off leash dog park higher up the to-do list.
City council has allocated $125,000 in their preliminary budget for the amentity that wasn’t initially scheduled for construction till next year.
Councillor Dan Rye says there’s an appetite in the community for a place residents can let their dogs free.
The amenity is in the city’s Millennium Park master plan.
Rye says their budget won’t be finalized till next month and encourages residents to come to the public meeting regarding their fiscal plan on April 21.
