The regional director for the East Shore of Kootenay Lake wants to look at fire protection for Crawford Bay.
Garry Jackman says it would likely mean extending the boundaries of the Riondel fire department.
But it would be determined by a feasibility study.
Previous attempts to bring fire protection to Crawford Bay were unsuccessful.
